GENERAL POLICY
Inspection status of a product is identified to assure that only product that has passed required inspection is moved, processed and/or shipped.

RESPONSIBILITY
Quality inspectors and warehouse-receiving personnel are responsible for indicating the inspection status of products.

CONFORMING PRODUCT
Products that do not require lot traceability or inspection and testing, and products that pass final inspection, are released for shipment.

NONCONFORMING PRODUCT
Products that fail inspection are given a "reject status" and not shipped.

AUTHORITY TO RELEASE PRODUCT
Only material that has been give a "release status" may be moved, processed or shipped. A quality inspector may only release material that has passed final inspection or does not require inspection.
