Section XI:
CONTROL OF INSPECTION, MEASURING AND TESTING EQUIPMENT

GENERAL POLICY
Apex Fasteners shall establish and maintain documented procedures to control, calibrate and maintain inspection equipment used for evaluation of samples or test specimens. These procedures shall assure that measuring and testing equipment are calibrated and maintained in such a manner to achieve accurate results.

CONTROL AND IDENTIFICATION
Control, calibration and maintenance of all inspection, measuring and testing equipment shall be carried out to assure accuracy of inspection and to maintain a stable quality level. Measuring and testing equipment are assigned unique identification numbers which, where practical, will also indicate calibration status.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
In order to assure calibration accuracy, all equipment shall be calibrated by personnel properly trained or, in absence of such a person, shall be outsourced to a third party service provider.

Management shall maintain a record of all inspection, measuring and testing equipment. Records shall also be maintained for the calibration cycle program and the results.

CALIBRATION OF EQUIPMENT
The calibration of all such equipment shall be traceable to its applicable standards. Management shall adjust the cycle time for calibration according to the condition of the equipment. Management shall be responsible for removing any such equipment that cannot be properly calibrated.

The user shall notify management if any abnormalities occur while using the equipment.
